Mark D. Rossman

Mark Douglas Rossman, 55, of Neptune City, died at home on Dec. 6, 2014. Born on August 29, 1959, Mark lived his entire life in Neptune City. He was one of two children born to Kenneth and Dorothy “Dot” Rossman. He graduated Neptune High School in 1977. He briefly attended Brookdale Community College before enrolling at Stockton University, from which he graduated with a B.A. in Business in 1981. From there, he became a Navy civilian employee – working for about a year at N.A.D. Earle in Precious Metals Recovery and then as an Army civilian employee as a Budget Analyst, where he worked at Camp Evans and Fort Monmouth. He opted for retirement after 30 years when his group was to be transferred from Fort Monmouth to Aberdeen, Delaware in 2011.

Mark had a life-long love for antiques and Americana. He loved cars from the ’50s and ’60s; he probably owned about 10 during his life. He was a member of several automotive societies. He had a particular love for Depression Glass, Fiestaware, and Hallmark ornaments, which he both collected and sold. Going to conventions, flea marketing, cruising yard sales, and talking with the people he met there were passions he shared with his much beloved mom for many decades.

Mark is survived by his brother, Randall Rossman of Nutley; his sister-in-law Pamela Rossman of Nutley; a niece, Kristin Tittrington of Haverhill, MA; a nephew, Paul Rossman of Lafayette, IN; and a grandniece, Madison Tittrington of Haverhill, MA. Mark was predeceased by his mother Dorothy Lamb Rossman (2002) and Kenneth Rossman (2013) of Neptune City, NJ.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday December 6th from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Francioni, Taylor& Lopez Funeral Home, 1200 10th and Atkins Ave., Neptune. In lieu of flowers, buy yourself something nice – Mark would have wanted that.
